Artificial Intelligence (AI), to join the Boeing AI Applications &
Innovations organization in Huntsville, AL . This team designs,
develops, deploys, and maintains AI-enabled systems to meet
business needs. This position will focus on supporting the
development of AI-enabled systems which drive engineering
productivity and innovation, as well as impact production,
products, and services. At Boeing, we accelerate the adoption of

Artificial Intelligence, to ensure our technical capabilities align
tightly with customer needs. In this role, you will lead a
geographically distributed engineering team to design, develop, and
deploy AI-enabled systems that drive improvements in productivity,
products, services, and production operations. You will also
expedite the transition of research and development prototypes into
validated products, services, and production-grade systems.

growth. Position Responsibilities: The Senior Manager, Artificial
Intelligence will lead end-to-end product development for
AI-enabled systems, ensuring technical execution, cross-functional
alignment, and adherence to principled AI practices. Lead teams
that design, develop, deploy, maintain, and sustain AI-enabled
systems and products. Supervise onsite, distributed, and remote
engineering teams, optimizing collaboration and productivity across
locations. Oversee portfolio planning and coordinate closely with
Technical Product Managers to align priorities, roadmaps, and
delivery outcomes. Provide project leadership, including
scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and milestone
accountability. Apply Agile development methodologies to enable
iterative delivery, rapid feedback cycles, and continuous
improvement. Drive innovation by challenging current practices and
applying creative, evidence-based solutions to complex problems.
Define AI product strategy and frame problems to deliver measurable
business and operational impact. Promote data literacy and apply
data-product thinking to ensure robust data pipelines, feature
engineering, and lifecycle management. Implement model-driven
development grounded in machine learning fundamentals,
reproducibility, and performance validation. Apply human-centered
design principles to ensure usability, adoption, and effective
integration with workflows. Champion responsible for AI practices
and governance, including fairness, transparency, explainability,
and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to appropriate
standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system
development life cycle. This role is responsible for leading the
transition of research and development outputs into products,
services, and production systems, ensuring technical integrity,
compliance, and operational scalability. Lead transitions from
prototype to production, defining clear handoffs, validation
criteria, and acceptance gates. Build and maintain strong
relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers,
partners, and direct reports. Collaborate with government research
agencies (e.g., DARPA, ARL, ONR), government regulatory agencies
(e.g., FAA, EASA) and external research partners to align technical
objectives, deliverables, and compliance requirements. Lead
university partnership initiatives. Employ systems thinking to
design resilient architectures, identify systemic risks, and ensure
interoperability with existing platforms and production
environments. Drive innovation by introducing practices and
solutions that extend beyond current approaches, using creative,
evidence-based methods. The incumbent will build and sustain
effective partnerships with international teams, integrate global
contributors into core workflows, and apply process improvement
practices to optimize delivery. Coordinate with international teams
to achieve shared business objectives and align on priorities.
Integrate global contributors into domestic team workflows to
ensure seamless collaboration, knowledge transfer, and consistent
delivery practices. Foster a culture of partnership, inclusivity,
and mutual accountability that empowers distributed teams to own
outcomes. Experiment with and adopt innovative collaboration models
and technologies to maximize effectiveness of globally distributed
teams. The Senior Manager, Artificial Intelligence will demonstrate
continuous learning, strong business acumen, and clear
communication while delivering safe, high-quality AI products and
managing change and financial accountability. Maintain continuous
learning to remain current with emerging AI technologies,
techniques, and industry best practices. Lead change management
initiatives to drive adoption, minimize disruption, and sustain
improvements. Apply business acumen in aviation, aerospace, and
defense to align technical decisions with strategic and operational
imperatives. Prioritize customer needs and deliver products that
meet the highest standards of safety and quality. Communicate
clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, across all
levels of the engineering organization, including executive
leadership. Manage budgeting and cost estimating using frameworks
such as Earned Value Management, Manufacturing Estimate at
Complete, and cost?benefit analysis to inform investment and
delivery decisions. Additional features of the role: Manage and
provide leadership to employees and mid-level managers engaged in
AI-enabled system design, development, deployment, maintenance and
sustainment. Foster employee development, motivation, and
performance management for both individual contributors and
mid-level managers. Acquire and cultivate AI talent and allocate
staff to support organizational activities and initiatives. Develop
and execute integrated organizational plans, policies, and
procedures aligned with business and the Boeing AI strategy, goals,
and objectives and technology roadmap. Basic Qualifications
(Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree or higher
from an accredited course of study in data science, machine
learning, applied statistics, mathematics, computer science or
engineering Ability to Obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance 10
years managing technical teams involved in AI and/or software
development 10 years in aviation and/or aerospace and defense
sector 5 years using modern software development methodologies 5
years using Agile software development methodologies Preferred
Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 5 years managing AI
development teams Advanced degree in engineering, AI, data science,
or related field Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance Expertise in
product life cycles specific to aviation and aerospace systems,
from concept through disposal Experience working across engineering
disciplines, including hardware, systems, mechanical, and
industrial engineering Experience with Scaled Agile Framework
(SAFe) and/or serving as an Agile scrum master or Release Train
Engineer (RTE). Certifications a plus. Understand maintenance,
retrofit, and sustainment processes for complex systems Design and
oversee test programs using methods such as design of experiments,
formal test-plan development, and robust verification and

considerations. Summary pay range / Level M: $198,900 - $269,100
