Northrop Grumman is seekinga Systems Engineerto join the Technology Services Intern team, supporting our Ground-based Midcourse Defense program located in Huntsville, AL. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Logistics Support team. The selected candidate will work in the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System, whichprovides Combatant Commanders the capability to engage and destroy intermediate- and long-range ballistic missile threats in space to protect the United States As an intern, you'll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety ofSystems Engineeringspecializations that may include: Developing an introductory knowledge of processes for Logistics Support and use such knowledge in aiding and assisting in the creation and review of work products for real-tine programs A variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas Constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, and maintaining equipment, components, devices or systems Work from engineering drawings and written orverbal instructions Operating related equipment and conducting tests and reporting data in prescribed format Performing calibration and alignment checks; making adjustments, modifications, and replacements asdirected;preparing prescribed compounds and solutionBasic Qualifications: A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2019 Be majoring in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial transcripts must be provided at the time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per weekthroughout spring 2019 and full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2019 Active Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week)throughout spring 2019 and for at least 10 weeks duringsummer 2019 Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
