HVAC BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 2OVERVIEWThe purpose of this position is to perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines under general supervision and supporting the Rocket Center mission, vision, and values.RESPONSIBILITIESEssential FunctionsPosition DutiesInstall, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units.Diagnose and repair these systems' electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.Diagnose and repair boiler and kitchen appliances.Diagnose and repair chillers, air compressors, pneumatics and gas appliances.Assist other department staff with general repairs and maintenance.Travel to job sites in service areas and work with dispatch to ensure the schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customers.Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service the emergency needs of our customers.Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as required.Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate the system according to the manufacturers recommendations, and fully explain to the customer the problem and what needs to be corrected.Participate in company-provided training opportunities on the latest industry technologies.The above duties reflect the general responsibilities necessary to describe the principal work functions of the job. The employee is responsible for working safely and keeping their workplace safe.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneTravel Required: NoneQUALIFICATIONSRequired EducationEducation: Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.May be required to complete an apprenticeship and formal training in areas of specialty.Required ExperienceExperience: Requires 3 + years of experience in the field or a related area.
