Security (BDS) organization is actively seeking a Mid-Level (Level
3), Senior (Level 4), and Senior Lead (Level 5) Missile Defense
Systems Engineers to join the Boeing National Team in Huntsville,
AL.--Position Responsibilities Include:Individual will conduct
analysis on ballistic missile defense radar systems for a variety
of studies supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). As part of
this analysis,
- Individual will develop, maintain, and execute modeling and
simulation (M&S) Matlab software, which includes pulse
scheduling, signal processing, tracking, discrimination, electronic
protection, reporting, and environmental models/algorithms.
- Individual will coordinate analysis activities and products
with functional group leads, senior management, and government
personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks.
- The individual will document analysis results in reports and
briefings to be presented to the Missile Defense National Team
(MDNT) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives.This
position is expected to be 100% onsite.-- The selected candidate
will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location
options.This position may require the ability to obtain access to
an MDA facility. Access to the facility requires a background
investigation by U.S. government authorities.This position requires
candidate acceptance by industry partner resource control
board.This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security
Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the
past 24 months is considered active.)Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience):
- Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical
degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a
mathematic, scientific or information technology field of
study).
- 5+ years of experience working with engineering design or
analysis in two or more technical disciplines
- 3+ years of experience with systems engineering on a missile,
weapon, or defense program
- 3+ years of experience with Radar systems or coursework in
Radar theory
- 3+ years of experience in Matlab
- 3+ years of experience working both independently and in team
environmentsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Senior - 7 years of higher education and/or related work
experience (Higher education includes college, university,
technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
- Senior Lead - 9 years of higher education and/or related work
experience (Higher education includes college, university,
technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)
- Analysis experience with Missile Defense Agency radar systems,
including AN/TPY-2, SBX, LRDR, SPY-1, SPY-6, UEWRs, or Cobra Dane
is highly desired.
- Ability and willingness to learn new physical and mathematical
concepts.
- Experience with radar scheduling, signal processing, tracking,
discrimination and/or electronic warfare is highly desired.
Analysis experience with C2BMC and/or weapon systems including
THAAD, Aegis Weapon Systems, and Ground-based Midcourse Defense
(GMD) systems is desired.
- Individual with demonstrated team leadership experience is
desired.
- Experience with version control software and/or object-oriented
programming is desired.Typical Education/Experience:Mid-Level:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard.Senior: Education/experience typically
acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited
course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics,
physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical
education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work
experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA,
ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard.Senior Lead: Education/experience typically
acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited
course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics,
physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more
years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of
technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work
experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA,
ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
