The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking
multiple talented Mid-Level and Senior Electrical Design & Analysis
Engineers (Level 3, 4, or 5) to join the Design Engineering Team in
Huntsville, AL on the Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3)
missile-defense program.
The Design Engineering team is responsible for designing RADAR
seeker upgrades and next generation concepts, as well as supporting
production and special test equipment design. Boeing has a
multi-year contract to develop, test, and manufacture the PAC-3
RADAR seeker. This program encompasses concurrent design, test and
manufacturing as new upgrades to this complex electro-mechanical
assembly are incorporated into production. This long-term program
is rapidly growing in Huntsville, Alabama due to design updates,
production growth, and Boeing facilities consolidations.
Analyzes customer and system requirements to develop basic
architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various
electronic products. Develops high-level and detailed designs
consistent with requirements and specifications. Validates designs
through various methods of review, testing and analysis.
Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to
measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements. Supports
Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other
technical services of limited scope. Provides engineering support
throughout the lifecycle of the product. Investigates emerging
technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet
projected requirements. Works under general direction. Support
electrical design activities for PAC-3 production, sustainment and
capacity assurance contracts which includes the following:
Position Responsibilities Include:
Develop detailed design solutions to component/part obsolescence
issues
Design electronic hardware and/or firmware focused on RADAR and
high-power applications
Develop circuit board designs for engineering and operational
systems
Develop, documents and maintains electronic and electrical system
requirements according to customer desires and contract
requirements
Develop of statements-of-work and technical performance
specifications
Develop of test plans/procedures and supports the execution test
events
Lead Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and
resolutions
Execute various methods of testing and analysis to support design
and production and to ensure system designs meet operational and
functional requirements
Lead formal trade studies and literature research to support
current product designs
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate
will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location
options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security
Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a
condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret
Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry
Three (3) or more years of experience with the architecting,
design, integration and test experience with analog circuit or
power supply designs
Three (3) or more years of experience in electrical engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited
course of study, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
Active Secret or higher security clearance
Three (3) or more years of experience working with
analog/mixed-signal/digital circuits
Three (3) or more years of experience in gimbals or robotics
design
Three (3) or more years of experience with power supply
circuitry
Three (3) or more years of experience working with Field
Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)
Experience with LabVIEW FPGA development and a thorough
understanding of FPGA architectures
Three (3) or more years of experience in RF (Radio Frequency)
theory and application
Three (3) or more years of experience with Electromagnetic
Compatibility
Strong presentation and communication skills
Three (3) or more years of experience multi-tasking and working in
a team environment
Three (3) or more years of experience with Mentor Xpedition,
Cadence or Altium printed circuit board design tools and
processes
Three (3) years of experience in electrical and/or electronic
design (including: AC Power Distribution, DC Power Distribution,
Current Flow Networking, Motor Controls, Ground and/or Bonding)
Three (3) years of experience using RF test and measurement
instrumentation (such as receivers, antennas, analyzers, and
oscilloscopes)
Hands-on lab experience with power/analog electronics testing or
test methodology
5+ year's related work experience or an equivalent combination of
education and experience
10+ year's related work experience or an equivalent combination of
education and experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard.
Lead (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work
experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred,
although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 5)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work
experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred,
although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: 81,000 - 144,000
