Job Description/Essential Functions: Bevilacqua Research Corporation (BRC) is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Small Business based in Huntsville, Alabama incorporated in 1992. This position supports the Space Launch Systems (SLS) Integrated Avionics Test Facility (IATF) Project Office for the development of Emulators that simulate the SLS Vehicle and B2 Test Stand. This position will perform project management, systems engineering, testing/analysis, deployment, and sustainment activities associated with the full life-cycle of Emulator systems that are delivered to and used by the receiving project/program to support development/test activities. Likewise, this position will perform systems engineering functions to support the development activities performed by the MPCV and EGS programs in the development of Emulator systems that will be delivered to and used to support development/testing activities performed at the SLS Systems Integration Lab (SIL) located at MSFC. Responsibilities: * Coordinate and interface with the SLS IATF office, the SLS Program Spacecraft Payload Integration and Evolution (SPIE), the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) program, the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) program, Mission Control Center, Crew Training, and associated Contractor organizations, for Emulator requirements, interfaces, verification, drawings, test/training facility operations, procedures, and technical issues. * Create and maintain a detailed Emulator development schedule. * Coordinate with receiving program (MPCV, SPIE, EGS, Crew Training, Mission Operations) to define Emulator concept of operation in host facility. * Lead and/or participate in technical reviews, working groups and trade studies with receiving program representatives to determine Emulator to host facility interface requirements. * Define and obtain SLS IATF approval for Emulator requirements and Detailed Verification Objectives (DVOs). * Generate interface documentation to ensure the necessary and complete integration of Emulator systems to the receiving program's host-facility. * Track the completion of Emulator HW and SW design. * Facilitate the assembly of emulator systems and the completion of Emulator software. * Develop test plans/procedures and verification documentation. * Execute test procedures and analyze test results. * Document/prioritize Emulator problems and coordinate fixes. * Track and generate/report metrics for Emulator problem reports. * Complete verification activities and associated documentation. * Plan/oversee the delivery of Emulator systems to the receiving program's host-facility. * Lead Emulator delivery/integration activities located at customer locations (requires travel) and report results to SLS IATF management. * Coordinate with Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) to ensure any concerns or hazards identified with the Emulator systems are assessed and resolved/mitigated. * Identify and communicate risks associated with Emulator to host-facility interface requirements and Emulator development activities to SLS IATF Management. * Personnel are required to be self-motivated, effective team players familiar with working in a highly-dynamic work environment. Minimum Requirements: * Degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution is required. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D., with a minimum 9 years of experience, Masters with at least 13 years of experience, or BS with at least 15 years of experience. 15-20 years of aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle simulation experience is preferred. * Experience using MS-Project to plan, track and report the development/testing, and deployment of a system. * Experience with Systems Engineering as a discipline, including some or all of the following development of requirements, requirement allocation, and development of verification plans, verification objectives, verification matrices, and verification implementation. * Experience in generating requirements, plans, and procedures for the development/test/deployment of simulation systems for aircraft, spacecraft or launch vehicle systems. * Experience reading and working with engineering drawings, interface control documents, configuration documents, or other technical documentation. * Experience generating test plans/procedures. * Experience executing test procedures and recording/analyzing results. * Experience performing verification activities and associated documentation. * Experience delivering and maintaining a deployed hardware/software system. * Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, customer relation skills, and presentation skills. * Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook). * Proof of US Citizenship is required. * Travel to other NASA Centers and customer locations will be required. Other Job Information (if applicable): -- * An understanding of launch vehicle simulation development and testing. * Experience in physical and functional integration of Emulator systems into a HWIL simulation facility. * Experience with NASA and/or MSFC spacecraft avionics and flight software development/integration and testing activities. * Experience supporting simulation to simulation integration or the development of simulation integration requirements supporting the DoD aircraft, Space Shuttle, ISS, or unmanned launch vehicles. * Demonstrated ability to work with a team of diverse individuals and reach group consensus on technical topics. * Experience in programmatic planning, monitoring, and control of efforts associated with Emulator development, testing, deployment, and sustainment. * Experience negotiating and coordinating top level integration agreements with receiving program representatives.
