Job Family:Data Science ConsultingTravel Required:Up to 10%Clearance Required:Ability to Obtain SecretWhat You Will Do: The Data Scientist will provide full-stack development consulting to a Department of the Army client as part of a Digital Transformation team. The Team will be responsible for harnessing, cleaning, and analyzing large amounts of related data and providing an intuitive and user-friendly set of data visualization dashboards and applications based on this data, to foster a data-driven decision-making approach. The Team will follow an Agile/Scrum methodology, iterating rapidly in 2-week sprints and constantly engaging with the client for feedback, quickly transforming that feedback into formal requirements. We seek candidates with extensive knowledge of and hands on experience with modern Data Science approaches with proven ability to work independently to model business and functional requirements into complex reports, data visualizations and dashboards. The candidate will be the lead data scientist on the team, consulting with the client in the development of innovated data models. Initially, team tasks will include importing data into a visualization engine from various external sources and the development of other web-based query applications. Ultimately, the client seeks a consulting team (i.e., "Think Tank") that is software agnostic and possesses a strategic outlook that produces relevant, timely, and actionable technical advice (e.g., advice regarding Digital Transformation of Portfolio Management, Product Support Management, Financial Management, Human Capital Management and Contract Management workflows). Duties will include:

• Providing the Client with change management strategies that will impact the people, processes, and technology,
• Assist the Client in determining the operating model and organizational structure in support of Intelligent Automation and Data Analytics to deliver innovative solutions
• Interfacing with Army Agencies and Team Subject Matter Experts to creating and validating data analytics models. What You Will Need:
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • 5 years with a PhD or 8 years with a Masters Degree or 10 years with a Bachelors DegreeWhat Would Be Nice To Have:
    • Demonstrates experience in performing software or data science development efforts with clear examples of value added to the client.
    • Masters degree in a science, technology, math, engineering field preferred; humanities degree with equivalent technical experience acceptable.
    • Experience implementing and automating software models created by data science teams (i.e. Spark, Scala, Hive, Python, R, SQL, etc.).
    • Experience with common data science tools, such as R, Python, MATLAB; with a heavy emphasis on Python.
    • Demonstrates experience interacting with end-users to understand and document business and functional requirements for complex projects, as well as collaborating with technical teams across the full software development life cycle.
    • Demonstrates considerable proven knowledge of analytical, organizational, planning and project management specific to software development lifecycle processes, which may include the following:
    • Designing and implementing technology for new or existing business applications. Developing systems requirements, designing, and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under weekly and monthly deadlines. Problem solving capabilities demonstrated in a team context to debug, troubleshoot complex software orchestrations, and/or identify solution options. Experience scoping and estimating individual tasks, as well as performing on multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to collect, organize, manage, and process client's sources of information and enhance data collection procedures. Understanding of the processing, cleaning, and verification of data used for analysis and ad-hoc analysis.
