Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems
have exciting career opportunities for Principal/ Sr. Principal
Systems Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals for the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Program
located in Huntsville, AL. Position Overview: The NGI Interface
Engineer conducts interface definition and revision to incorporate
new system capabilities and development changes that affect the NGI
interface. Primary responsibility will be to develop interface
design diagrams (IDD) to support customer deliveries of the
architecture model. Will work with multiple interface control
document (ICD) authors and participate in multiple technical
working groups to apply knowledge of the system domain and
interface exchange requirements. Essential Functions:
- Successful candidate will attend interface working group
meetings with MDA customer and representatives of assigned
external/internal element engineering organization.
- Successful candidate will support leadership to assure
interface artifacts and CDRL tasks required for the assigned system
interface are completed when required.Basic Qualifications: This
position may be filled at either a Principal or Sr. Principal
Systems Engineer level.
- Principal Systems Engineer: 5 years with Bachelor of Science in
Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 3 Years
with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
- Sr Principal Systems Engineer: 9 years with Bachelor of Science
in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; 7
Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
- Active Secret clearance is required.
- Demonstrated Systems Engineering skills and experience with
interface engineering, to include: message definition and
standardization, physical/network specifications and models, and
the generation and capture of interface data in a SysML model.
- In addition, requirements engineering, to include experience
working with IBM Rational's Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements
System (DOORS).
- Mid-Career experience performing pre-PDR systems engineering
for DoD systems.
- Must be able to function as part of an experienced team in
developing systems engineering products and artifacts while
adhering to the program Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)
and other processes. Preferred Qualifications:
- Desired skills include: requirements engineering, logical
architecture modeling, MBSE modeling, to include: behavioral
modeling (use cases, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.);
structural modeling (structural composition diagrams, interface
diagrams, conceptual object diagrams, etc.); et al., SysML and JIRA
tools.
- Experience with Agile or Iterative Development Methods.
- Missile Defense Agency (MDA) systems experience a plus.
- Specific interface experience with MDA elements or systems is a
significant plus. Salary Range: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD Salary
Range 2: $117,900 USD - $176,900 USD Employees may be eligible for
a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
