About The Role
Parry Labs is looking for a System Engineer to be the primary subject matter expert who leads the hands-on implementation and administration of enterprise networks and servers across the Parry Labs environment. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, responsibilities include the monitoring and maintenance of environments, networks, and systems supporting Parry Labs users. This position will develop and maintain systems across cloud service providers like AWS and Azure. Being part of a small team, the System Engineer will also play a critical role in Cybersecurity, leveraging common security tools and processes to secure our environments. Finally, the System Engineer will collaborate with engineers, programs, and customers to design and continuously improve the DevOps solutions and culture of Parry Labs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• 
  
• Responsible for the operational availability and performance of Parry Labs networks, infrastructure, and cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure).
  
• Monitor and administer firewalls, network, server, and domain-level services including response to critical events and regular maintenance.
  
• Deliver and configure new systems including Windows and Linux image deployments, application installs, licensing, and custom configurations.
  
• Maintain and secure standard system images, configuration repositories, and automation used to support key services (i.e. DNS) and image deployments using Git, Ansible, and Terraform.
  
• Key subject matter expert on projects supporting the implementation, migration, and administration of Microsoft 365, AWS, and Azure platforms.
  
• Coordinate and be an active member of platform engineering/site reliability engineering (SRE) supporting internal and external customer engineering needs.
  
• Maintain the security posture of Parry Labs through security by design, compliance audits, and implementation of security controls across the boundary.
  
• Help maintain application contract renewals and license allocation for engineering software.
  
  
  Required Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • Proven experience with Palo Alto firewalls, common network hardware, routing, and switching.
    
  • Experience in virtualization (VMWare), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
    
  • Proven experience scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform) solutions to facilitate automation and integrations.
    
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting primarily enterprise Linux and some Windows server operating systems.
    
  • Experience maintaining a Microsoft 365 environment and domain-level services like Azure AD and DNS.
    
  • Experience applying controls across the NIST 800-171 framework to network and server hardware and applications and services.
    
  • Experience supporting engineering software, systems, and users including Cameo, SolidWorks, Jama, etc.
    
  • Understanding of DEVOPS concepts, version control and automation software (i.e. Git and Ansible) and CI/CD (i.e. Jenkins).
    
  • Understanding of LDAP and single sign-on technology, Active Directory, SAML.
