TThe Cyber Assessments Department in the Cyber Solutions Innovation Center is seeking a qualified candidate for a Group Leader (GL) position within our security automation technical capability area. The GL will be a member of the departments leadership team and will be engaged in all aspects of leading and managing a dynamic and growing work program in security automation. The GLs primary role is to serve as coach and mentor and help his or her group members grow, learn, and progress in their MITRE careers. He, she, or they will be the first line supervisor to group members, creating an environment that inspires excellence and reinforcing MITREs culture of speed, risk-taking, adaptability, and grace and respect. The GL will work in close coordination with the Department Manager (DM) and the department leadership team to recruit and hire top cyber researchers and engineers and to expand the breadth and depth of the departments work in security automation. The GL must be qualified and willing to be a direct contributor within the security automation work program. Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team while growing expert Cyber Security talent, facilitating high impact contributions to private and public sector projects
  • Provide thought leadership in identifying and addressing emerging Cyber Security Automation needs
  • Interface with senior leaders of Cyber Security research organizations and academic institutions to guide approaches to solutions based on understanding of the issue
  • Mentor and coach group staff to improve their performance
  • Recruit and hire new technical, and leadership staff and help staff them on suitable projects
  • Lead Interviews, Reviews, and Performance Improvement Discussions at mid-year, end of year, and as circumstances require
  • Leverage your internal social network and corporate knowledge to provide appropriate tasking and opportunities to group staff
  • Promote collaboration and integration with other organizations and programs within the division and across MITRE to expand the breadth and depth of the departments work and provide new opportunities for staffRequired Qualifications:
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in Cyber Security
  • Possess technical expertise in cyber security automation
  • Possess and maintain a Secret level security clearance
  • Understand the missions, domains and challenges of MITRE customers and is fully responsible for deliverables, including definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span
  • Have experience working collaboratively with experts within other Cyber Security domains
  • Have experience working with end-users to determine requirements
  • Have awareness of current Cyber Security challenges and technical advancements
  • Demonstrated ability to seamlessly traverse communication across information technology experts and non-technical stakeholders
  • Understanding of the Cyber Security industry including Government, and private organizations
  • A track record of successfully delivering on deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Deliverables oriented, starting with the end in mind
  • Expert in Microsoft suiteo Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc
    • Professional demeanor and ability to create professional level deliverablesPreferred Qualifications :
    • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in Cyber Security Automation
    • Possess a high level technical expertise and be considered a thought leader in cyber security automation
