Your role:

In your role as an Assistant Range Safety Officer within the Sensors and Platform Protection Group at the Redstone Test Center you will directly support a variety of Department of Defense weapon systems programs. Using your skills and experience in safety you will ensure the safety of your teammates in an active test environment by ensuring applicable operational procedures, policies and Standard Operational Procedures (SOP's) are followed and up to date.

Work as part of a team that consists of safety and test professionals
Apply U.S. Army and OSHA regulations
Apply hazard analysis and risk mitigation techniques to maintain a safe work environment while meeting mission requirements
Research, analyze and commuicate procedures and policies
Actively participate in hazard analysis working groups
Assist with safety training activities

Minimum requirements for this position:

Five (5) years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing, or Two (2) years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and Three (3) years of applicable experience is required
Ability to research, analyze and apply/commuicate U.S. Army and OSHA safety regulations
Experience in hazard analysis and risk mitigation
Knowledge and experience with military weapons, missile systems, and lasers
Occupational safety knowledge and application
Good leadership and communciation skills
Working knowledge of range safety
Willingness to accept responsibility for enforcing safety measures, controlling range areas during testing, and ensuring the safety of all personnel
Experience in writing and applying policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Candidate must be willing to work outdoors up to 60% of the time regardless of weather conditions, to include hot/humid, cold, and wet conditions
Candidate must be willing and able to work around ammunition and explosives after receiving applicable training/certifications
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and must possess a valid driver's license
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Candidate must be able to come to work early, stay late, and work in shifts as testing schedule dictates
Candidate must be willing to work paid overtime hours
Candidate must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
Candidate must possess basic computer skills, to include the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Candidate must work well with others, have a strong work ethic, be a motivated self-starter, be well organized, and be on time to work

Desired skills and experience for this position:
