Parry Lab's flagship Stellar Relay product is a modular, tactical-cloud family of systems targeted for small footprint edge deployment enabling rapid software delivery of mission critical capabilities as needed to implement Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2). Developed and supported by Parry Labs, Stellar Relay is deployed at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7-9 on SOCOM, Army, Air Force and new DARPA platforms including the MQ-1C Grey Eagle, Grey Eagle Miniature Mission Interface (GEMMI) Ground Control Station, MQ-9 Predator, MQ-9B SeaGuardian, U-28 Draco, and UH-60A BlackHawk. Stellar Relay provides customers with hardware and software solutions that securely streamline the ability to collect, analyze, and share information at the speed of relevance. As a small footprint communications hub and compute host based on relevant open standards, Stellar Relay is easy to integrate and equips platforms with a low-cost solution to continuously upgrade capabilities by hosting advanced applications and technologies including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), vision-based navigation, and other mission critical technologies.

Parry Labs offers a dynamic engineering environment integrating Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and DevSecOps into a common software factory ecosystem enabling delivery of the right capability at the speed of relevance. We are starting a Dojo-based immersive learning environment to upskill our workforce in the flow of work and cultivate high-performing teams. This position is for a Kubernetes Engineer.


The ideal hands-on Kubernetes Engineer will bring their experiences, best practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive DevSecOps initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, responsibilities include building a process for automation as well as contributing to the development of internal tools to achieve operational efficiency. You will play a crucial role in architecting and implementing fully automated, secure, reliable, scalable & resilient multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud solutions. The Kubernetes Engineer will be part of a highly technical and cross-functional team and work closely with DevOps engineers, platform delivery lead, solution architects, enterprise architects, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight, has an agile/DevOps mindset, and has a passion to learn. Willingness to work closely with our development and network operations team to orchestrate the creation of solutions that can scale, aid in, and shorten the development life cycle.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years in architecting and implementing fully automated, secure, reliable, scalable & resilient multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud solution.
  • 3+ Years of experience working hands on with AWS cloud
  • Experience with K3s Kubernetes ecosystem installation and K3s cluster to deploy and run applications.
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of Kubernetes clusters
  • Primarily focused on the support and troubleshooting of assorted Kubernetes orchestrated, containerized applications
  • Apply & maintain current industry standard security measures to Kubernetes clusters
  • Identify problems within the cluster and assist in tuning performance based on system metrics
  • Management of software defined load balancing systems
  • Monitoring & tuning of Kubernetes cluster and deployed applications
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies in partnership with Software and Staff Engineers to meet evolving business requirements

    • Experience with DevOps concepts, tools (containers, (CI/CD - Github, Artifactory), Ansible, etc.) and emerging technologies
    • Experience with network infrastructure skills (e.g. setting up and managing firewalls, WAFs, network segregation, network sharing, VPNs and network ACLs)
    • Understanding of application deployment, monitoring, and deployment
    • Experience with Kubernetes security, networking, performance tuning,
