All current and newly hired employees are required to follow onsite safety measures based upon the COVID-19 Community Level at the specific work location.Description:Do you want to be on the cutting-edge of Missile Defense?Lockheed Martin has a dynamic Lead Systems Engineer opportunity for you in Huntsville!This is a position contingent upon contract award.The Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) Element develops, integrates, tests, fields, and sustains strategic missile defense capabilities to protect the homeland against current and projected future strategic missile threats or attacks.The GMD Element has been the principal capability for the defense of the homeland against rogue ballistic missile threats. The GMD Element uses multiple sensors, communications systems, fire control capabilities, and interceptors to detect, track, and destroy intermediate- and long-range ballistic missiles during the midcourse phase of flight.The GMD Weapons System (GWS) Systems Engineer Task Lead will be responsible for providing technical expertise and program leadership across the development phase of the GWS program builds.This will include executing as a member of the multi-industry partnered GWS Technical Leadership Board. Please contact us to request an accommodation.Basic Qualifications: Must currently hold an Active DoD Secret security clearance in order to be considered for this position - Bachelor s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 14 years or more of professional experience- Related Leadership experience in baseline concept development, Weapon Systems, and System of System design, requirements definition, and integration of large real-time platform systems- Well-versed with systems and software engineering processes including top-down design starting from high-level system requirements through requirements allocation to products, to software and hardware implementation, integration and deployment- Experience with agile team structures and agile development programs with leadership experienceDesired Skills:- DoD Software Engineering background, including detailed familiarity with Missile Defense System and Element design, implementation and integration complexities- Experience with model-based engineering programs- Experience in complex systems interoperability design and integration most specifically MDS Ground Systems architecture and supporting elements (GMD, THAAD, Aegis BMD, C2BMC, LRDR, SBX, etc.)- Expertise with containerized software systems in accordance with DoD DevSecOps Reference Design- Knowledge of the application of Kubernetes as an open-source system for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications- Experience in System Development Integration & Test activities, including Computer Program development, requirements verification, and system level test events involving customers and operational users- Experience in technical integration of a new missile within a weapons system- Experience with complex systems interoperability design and integration- Familiarity with Agile software development practicesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
