Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated and
talented Associate Systems Engineers to join the MWS Systems
Engineering Team in Huntsville, Alabama. There are multiple
positions for a wide range of systems engineering roles
available.
The Missiles and Weapons Systems (MWS) organization is dynamic and
growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing
top talent in support of critical missions for National Defense and
Strategic Deterrence. Connected to our customers' missions, we
deliver unique capability through our exceptional talent. The
programs that we support in Huntsville, Alabama include
Ground-based Midcourse Defense, Next Gen Interceptor,
precision-guided munitions, and Integrated Air & Missile Defense
products (PAC-3, Avenger, ABMD); Missile Defense Agency National
Team (Systems Engineering, C2BMC), and Strategic Deterrence Systems
(which includes Minuteman ICBM support and guidance system
repair).
Systems Engineering, System Integration, Design Integration
Responsibilities May Include:
Assists with performance analysis to optimize total system and/or
system architecture to solve complex missile defense problems.
Supports interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan,
design, develop and verify system solutions.
Assists with definition and coordination of system performance
requirements and technical parameters.
Assists with definition of high level functional and performance
requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis,
decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those
lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural
elements, and tracking them through design, verification,
integration, and operational validation
Assists with performance analysis for affordability, safety,
reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, human
systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility,
system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance,
product security (cyber security) and other specialties quality
factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission
success.
Assists with risk assessments and generate mitigation plans for
various programs with regard to compliance with system requirements
and customer capabilities
Assists with development of verification and validation methods,
processes, logic, and plans in support of program milestones.
Assist in developing and documenting electronic and electrical
system requirements
Supports circuit design (PWB layout, thermal analyses, power
analyses, EMI analyses)
Assist in analyzing and translating requirements into system
architecture, hardware and software designs and interface
specifications
Supports software development, software and test integration
Assist in test and validation to ensure system designs meet
operational and functional requirements
Utilization of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as
DOORS, Cameo, and mathematical modeling and simulation to develop
system definitions and perform trade studies in assigned areas.
Systems and Performance Analysis, Model & Sim, Algorithm
Development Responsibilities May Include:
Assist in evaluation of systems under various scenarios and
architectures to determine and/or optimize overall system mission
performance in a framework giving insight into performance
Assist in performing analysis to optimize total system of systems
and/or system architecture to solve complex missile defense
problems.
Assist in developing and maintaining analysis tools of varied
fidelity including modeling and simulation tools to predict
performance against evolving threats of current and future missile
defense systems
Assist in performing systems analyses of the existing system
architecture in conjunction with new technologies and concepts for
improvements to be considered for future architectures
Assist in developing, refining and documenting key algorithm
capabilities to support various DoD customers
Assist in conducting analysis of multiple targets discrimination
for survivability, vulnerability, and susceptibility into a
preferred configuration to ensure mission success
Model Based Engineering / Systems Engineering
Development of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools,
processes and architectures
Configuration, data and work flow management of program specific
MBSE tools and processes
Establishment of protocol / process for integration of engineering
tools with MBSE
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security
Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
( An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is
required.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical degree
is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic,
scientific or information technology field of study)
Minimum of 1 year of experience in systems engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in applying engineering processes and principles
Experience/domain knowledge of system architecture, requirements,
interface definition, verification, and validation
Experience with systems development and integration
Experience modeling or simulating systems
Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems
engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value
management, DOORs, CAMEO)
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
Understanding of statistical analysis, distributions, and
sampling
Experience in industrial engineering
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical
education from an accredited course of study in engineering,
computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor)
and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an
equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
Masters). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although
not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this

their own expense.
