Summary Under limited supervision, verifies and keeps
records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for
shipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of
incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills
of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
method of shipment.
with shipping carriers to schedule pick-ups and track
shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping
information on cartons.
wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled
items into containers.
covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal
stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping
instructions onto crates or containers.
weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet
and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records
shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and
items to departments.
inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist
shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work
with carriers to facilitate unloading, storage and organization of
incoming materials and perform visual inspection to ensure that all
products are not damaged or deteriorated.
incoming packages to appropriate department/end-user.
accurate log of materials to reflect incoming and outgoing traffic

Education and/or Experience
Certificate or Associates Degree preferred and a minimum of 10
years of experience,
training; or equivalent combination of education and

knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen

Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security
Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
