Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is looking for a Sr Principal
Engineer Planning Analyst for the Space Sector Ground Based
Mid-Course Defense (GMD) program located in Huntsville, AL
With decades of experience as the prime contractor/strategic
partner on mission-critical missile defense programs that secure
the homeland and defend our allies, Northrop Grumman is a premier
provider of reliable, secure and affordable transformational
missile defense solutions. NG is a strategic partner on the GMD
program. As the lead on ground systems, we have successfully
performed this work for over 20 years since program inception.
•Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or
existing programs. Determines, monitors, and reviews costs,
operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements.
•Supports and participates in negotiations with customer.
Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as
Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most
practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required
•Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the
progress against established plans and parameters.
•Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as
schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and
•Maintains a fundamental understanding of functional
organizations to include their roles, responsibilities, timelines,
and standard operating procedures and processes.
•10 Years with a Bachelors' Degree or 8 Years with Masters'
•Excellent communication (written and oral), presentation,
leadership, and interpersonal skills
•Must be able to develop new applications to analyze and solve
•Must be self- initiating; needing minimal supervision using
independent judgment in completing assignments.
•Must exhibit very strong Excel and analysis skills
•Active Secret DoD Security Clearance.
•Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
•Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile
•Proposal Development experience
•Familiar with the business development process and a working
understanding of the BAP (Business Acquisition Process) and
associated allocation of business development funding sources and
