The Systems Design Directorate is the central focus for Mission
Systems Integration activities within Raytheon Missiles & Defense
(RMD). The more than 1,100 employees of Systems Design provide
requirements definition and design at the system, subsystem and
component level every day in a collaborative environment which is

recognition. Supporting this mission are teams providing domain
expertise and creative solutions in surveillance, naval and missile
defense based radar system design, sonar and undersea sensor system
design, integrated air and missile defense systems engineering,
command and control/battle management system design, combat system
and platform architecture design and integration, operational
analysis and simulation modeling research and development, software
intensive system engineering, cyber solutions and algorithm
development for signal processing, tracking and discrimination

professional organization? Integrated Defense Systems is looking
for a Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense and Sensor
Systems (MDSS) department. The MDSS department provides subject
matter expertise for concept development, architectural design,
requirements generation & flow down, modeling and simulation,
systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class
Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people,
processes, technology and performance.
The Missile Defense National Team Engineering (NT-E)Engineering
System Concepts & Requirements (SC&R) Product Team, performs
system engineering functions and leads requirements and
architecture development activities to define, characterize, and
develop Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) capabilities and
document the capabilities in BMDS Technical Baseline products.
The SC&R Product Team consists of the following groups: System
Architecture and Requirements Tools, System Requirements,
Performance Requirements, Interface Requirements, Specialty
Engineering, and Capability Development for Future Concepts.
The candidate will assist in the development and refinement of BMDS
Technical Baseline documents and System Architectures, including
production, delivery, and configuration management of technical
documentation, including the BMD System Specification, BMD System
Interface Control Documents, and associated Specification Change
- Must have active/current Secret US Security Clearance
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience with systems engineering
process/implementation, architecture and requirements development
and analysis, system engineering requirements and architecture
databases/tools (e.g., DOORS and System Architect), and
specification/requirements documentation (e.g., specifications and
interface control documents).
- Broad Systems Engineering background with strong coordination,
communication and horizontal integration skills.
- Understanding of system architecture development process and
architecture products is required.
- Experience in project planning and scheduling, EVMS cost and
- General experience with one or more BMDS elements (e.g., GMD,
THAAD, Aegis BMD, AN/TPY-2, C2BMC, PATRIOT, etc.) and weapon system
developments capabilities is highly desired.
- System experience and versatility in several BMDS functional
areas (i.e., BMDS related sensors, weapons, battle management and
command, control, communications) are desirable.
- Degree and experience in an engineering classification,
mathematics or physics: Bachelors, Masters or PhD.
