Job Description: Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) operates and maintains a variety of technical laboratories in all of our plant sites across the USA. The Electronics Technology Department, which functions within the Electrical Subsystems Directorate (ESD), is responsible for multiple engineering laboratories. We are seeking a Lab Lead with strong hands on skills capable of independently identifying lab needs. The candidate will work closely with Lab Operation Managers, Technical Lab Leads, Engineering staff and Technicians within ESD to ensure that labs are running within established industry and audit guidelines. This position works closely with all levels of leadership in multiple organizations as well as managing lab utilization across various projects. As a member of the team, this position will lead day-to-day operation requirements, with particular focus on compliance and improvement. The Lab Lead will be encouraged to look for new methods to succinctly accomplish all tasks while maintaining a highly collaborative and transparent environment necessary to integrate the functional responsibilities in tandem with lab demands. In partnership with the team members of the lab and the department leadership, the Lab Lead owns the quality and performance of the ESD Engineering Labs. The Lead will also ensure lab users have the appropriate security clearances and have taken required training based upon their roles/functions. Audits may include but are not limited to: CAM, Environmental Health and Safety, Security, Foreign Object Debris, 7S, ELOEs, and DCMA / Customer. Candidate will be creative and innovative, possessing strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In the position, the Lab Lead must be able to collaborate with customers, employees, and senior leaders when implementing process and procedural changes. Candidates should have a high situational awareness, strong emotional intelligence, and be able to effectively work multiple projects simultaneously with diverse groups and customers. Key Responsibilities : Assist with customer and employee required soldering and mechanical assembly rework as needed. Review and maintain available lab equipment and ensure that appropriate equipment is available for future product needs. A proactive role in developing, understanding and implementing common lab processes, tools, templates and metrics. Holds primary accountability and custodianship for lab security structure and ensuring security practices and processes are enforced. Maintains and improves the lab access list and training matrices ensuring all personnel entering the labs are properly trained and cleared. Implement company policies and practices to ensure compliance and provide a safe and secure environment. Crisply communicate successes, issues, and opportunities for improvement to team members and management. Ensure RMS and Customer property is properly tracked and maintained. Lead by example by being a champion of respect, diversity and inclusion, and ethical conduct within the organization Required Experience : U.S. Citizenship required Experience working in an engineering lab environment A minimum of four (4) years of experience with MS Word, Project, PowerPoint and Excel Experience reading and understanding blueprints/schematics Experience with both soldering and mechanical assembly and rework Have the ability to coordinate with various engineering disciplines and subject matter experts.. Desired Skills: Experience with metrology, chemical handling, and property control requirements and processes. Experience with cost and schedule generation/reporting and knowledge of capital/facilities/expense management tools. J-STD-001 Certified Possess exemplary oral communication and interpersonal/human relations skills. Must display proven leadership skills, including willingness to make decisions and embrace change Defense Security Service's NISPOM Raytheon Security Operational Documents, 7S, and Value Stream ISO / LEAN regulations, as well as environmental health and safety practices Four (4) years of applied experience developing solutions and maintaining audit readiness procedures and goals for an organization. Education: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years applicable experience. This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of any clearances and/or accesses necessary for the position. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
