Army Aviation SME Tester (Job Number:439872)Description:JOB DESCRIPTION: The Aviation Subject Matter Expert (SME) is the resident expert on all aspects of Federal Aviation and DOD/Army Regulations. The SME will support AWE software development and test across multiple aircraft platforms in an aircraft integration lab and on a PC [MS Windows].Duties include:- Simulator flight testing the 28 day NGA DAFIF data by following the Software Testing Document for multiple Flight Management Systems.- Diagnose aircraft avionics and DAFIF problems related to Communications, Navigation, Surveillance / Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM)- Analyze and propose changes to the DAFIF data and test new software tools as they are developed.- Member of an Avionics/Weapons/Electronics (AWE) software team with the ability to work and coordinate with the program office, software developers, aero-engineers, and software test engineers.- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate orally or in written form with internal/external customers.- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.- Ability to get along with others and to be part of a team consisting of Aviation and Engineering type personalities.- Maintain a current knowledge of flight operations procedures, regulations, and industry best practices.- Support other departmental personnel in the conduct of their activities in order to accomplish overall department and company objectives.- Perform comparative analysis on aircraft log files to spot errors, trend analysis, and develop corrective actions.- Write documentation for FMS Type II certifications.- Travel: 25%Candidate must be rated and have attended an Army Aviation certification in one or more of the following US Army aircraft: UH-60M, UH-72, CH-47F CAAS 9.2.2 or higher, or AH-64E v4 or higher. An Instrument Examiner IE identifier is desired. Experience with Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) including IPAC, IPACX, PFPS, CFPS, FalconView and XPlan is highly desired.
