the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Technical
Editor/Writer to join our diverse and talented material development
group to support our customers. As a Technical Editor/Writer, you
will be responsible for developing Software installation material
and documentation, as well as related technical publications. You
must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to express
technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of
audiences and acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product
developers, observing performance of production methods, referring
to and understanding technical specifications, engineering
drawings, and trade journals. to communicate clearly and
effectively technical specifications and instructions to Subject
Matter Experts. This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama
without remote work possibility. Basic Qualifications: To be
considered for this position, you must, at a minimum, meet the
knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: - 4 Years experience
as a Technical Editor and Writer with a Bachelor’s degree; 2 Years
experience with a Master’s degree; additional years of experience
may be considered in lieu of degree - Experience working with
military technical documents related to training development,
training delivery, and integrated logistics support ARs, Mil
Specifications and Preferences, Technical Bulletins, IETMs, DIDs,
etc.) - 5 years of experience and advanced skills with the
Microsoft Office product suite - 3 years of experience and
intermediate skills with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe
Illustrator - Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will
be given preferential consideration: - Master’s Degree in English,
Writing, Instructional Design, or related field - Certification in
AGILE/SAFe, such as Scrum Master, DevOps, Product Management, etc.
- Experience working with documentation as code using Pandoc,
Markdown, Python and git - Experience in Advanced Adobe Acrobat,
InDesign, and/or Adobe Illustrator user Primary Level Salary Range:
$65,800.00 - $98,800.00 The above salary range represents a general
guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors
when determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
(PTO) for vacation and/or personal business. The application period
