Job Description:
GDIT is looking for an energetic Windows Systems Administrator
Associate to join our team in the Huntsville, AL location.
Detailed Description: Provide PC support services to end-users'
Windows desktops, Windows & Mac laptops, Windows & iOS mobile
devices, Windows tablets, and miscellaneous printers. Maintain a
good PC and systems administration support relationship between
GDIT and ASA through an open channel of problem reporting, problem
repair, and preventative maintenance.
Primary daily tasks will include: the operations, monitoring,
reporting, and repairing of server hardware, backups, patching,
anti-virus, and asset-management support services. Secondary daily
and weekly tasks will include testing of backup-sets through test
restorations, event log monitoring, Microsoft Active Directory
support, Microsoft Systems Center support, bare-metal and
virtualized server creations and maintenance, and vulnerability
scanning.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Required Qualifications: BA/BS or equivalent experience.
Independently provides technical interpretation and solutions in
the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and
architectures.
Troubleshoots system hardware and software specific issues.
Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems
and layered software packages.
Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance
levels.
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard
software and hardware solutions.
Independently ensures data/media recoverability by following a
schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers
to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and
configuration guidelines.
Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs
of network users.
Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through
advanced education and work experience.
May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term
strategies.
Desired Qualifications:
Working with other Systems Administrators daily in team
setting.
Providing first contact and incident resolution to users with
hardware, software, and application problems.
Experience with Windows operating systems.
Experience with mobile devices (iOS and Android.)
Strong troubleshooting abilities.
Installing/Configuring PCs, printers, peripherals, and
software.
Using vulnerability reports for patching of Windows systems.
Security issue remediation.
Knowledge of PC hardware.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Working with vendors to maintain laptop and desktop hardware.
Security+ certification, equivalent, or ability to attain within 6
months.
Basic knowledge of virtualization.
Office 365 enterprise.
Experience with Nessus (or similar SW) Vulnerability Scanning.
Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
Experience with BackupExec.
Experience with Active Directory.
Experience with Microsoft Exchange.
Experience with RAID.
Experience with Multi-factor authentication.
Experience with Powershell.
