Applied Systems Laboratory (ASL) of the Georgia Tech Research
Institute (GTRI) is seeking experienced Modeling and Simulation
Engineers who have interest in intellectually challenging and
rewarding workThese positions reside in the Huntsville Research
Center and support research and development activities for the
Program Executive Office (PEO) AviationQualified applicants will
support specification and development of simulations and software
emulation for aviation assets and unmanned systemsJob Purpose The
Software Engineer designs, develops, and tests software
applications and productsAdditionally, the Software Engineer
manages software development teams, provides technical leadership,
and establishes software development lifecycle practices and
processesThe Software Engineer is proficient in programming
languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, Ruby, Python,
Scala, and GroovyIn this role, the Software Engineer requires
extensive knowledge of programming languages, software development,
computer operating systems, Continuous Integration/Continuous
Delivery (CI/CD), DevOps, Application Programming Interface (API)
development, container development, and distributed systemsThe
Software Engineer also applies engineering principles to software
creation, manages production releases of software, performs code
reviews, merges feature development branches, and analyzes and
triages issuesThe necessary skill areas for the Software Engineer
include programming and coding, fundamentals of computer science,
software design and architecture development, algorithms and data
structures, information analysis, software debugging and testing,
and working on development teamsThe Software Engineer also works
with sponsors to curate requirements, define sprint work items, set
priorities for work backlogs, and organize development teamsKey
Responsibilities--- Perform software development, debugging,
modification, enhancement, and documentation.--- Develop and
maintain kernel and user-level software and scripts.--- Contribute
to technical reports and presentationsAdditional
Responsibilities--- Develop analysis tools to support processing
M&S data after Monte Carlo simulation runs.--- Development of
operational scenario type models to inform and shape sponsor
acquisition requirementsRequired Minimum Qualifications---
Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree program
relevant to this position will be consideredThe candidate must have
a graduation date of no later than May 2024Preferred
Qualifications--- Active Secret Clearance.--- Working knowledge of
Agile SW development methodologies.--- Working knowledge of AFSIM
modeling framework.--- Working knowledge of Python programming
language, specifically for data analysis and visualization.---
Working knowledge of Software Defined Radios, Tactical
Electromagnetic Communication, RADAR, or Electromagnetic Warfare
principles.--- Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) or Monte
Carlo simulation methodologiesTravel Requirements--- Education and
