today.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Principal Database
Administrator - 10661. This position will be located in Huntsville,
Alabama or Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.As a
Database Administrator:--- Foster a working environment which
reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop
Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and
innovation.--- Implement and optimize the computerized database
systems that support the Company's or client's ability to function
on a daily basis.--- Implement and maintains smooth operation and
physical design of databases.--- Conduct performance tuning of
indexes and databases in general.--- Review database design and
integration of systems, provides backup, recovery and makes
recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.---
Maintain security and integrity controls.--- Formulate policies,
procedures, and standards relating to database management, and
monitors transaction activity and utilization.--- May develop
stored procedures and/or triggers.--- Administer a variety of
database systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle
and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).--- Develop and
enforce database administration and user standards and procedures;
audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.---
Oversee the scheduling of database projects, database and
transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication
between multiple servers and remote sites.--- Assist Software
Engineers in the development and creation of SQL and Web-based
databases and database systems.--- Review technical designs,
reports, documentation, and other materials produced by staff;
researches and implements new database and online technology.As a

schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a
nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday
off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance
package.Job Qualifications: -You'll Bring These
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from accredited institution with
06 years of database experience; 04 Years with Master's OR 4
additional years in lieu of a degree.Ability to obtain DoD Secret
clearance.US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program
Access (SAP)Experience with Agile principles to include Kanban,
ScrumThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Preferred degree in
Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
disciplinesExcellent interpersonal, communication and
organizational skillsProven experience with Microsoft SQL Server,
Oracle and PostgreSQL database management systemsStrong critical
thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve
issuesOperates independently with limited supervision, and the
ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical
staff, peers, and customersStrong understanding of Object
Relational Mappers (ORM)Ability to design and normalize database
schemasBasic understanding of code-first database migrationsStrong
understanding of database / data replication in distributed
networks/file systemsExperience in ETL, ELT, and Data Pipeline
#GBSDsoftware Salary Range: $82,000 - $123,000 Employees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
