Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer . This position will be located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrence (GBSD) program.This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.What You'll Get To Do:
  Principal/Senior Principal Engineer, Software Quality Assurance - The selected candidate will be responsible for one or more software development teams (IPTs) on the GBSD or other SDS programs. Our focus is on ensuring process execution and efficiencies in the development, testing and release of the software deliverables.
  Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support individual scrum/sprint teams by attending meetings, creating Jira dashboard tools to help monitor the progress and execution efficiency. Offer suggestions for improvement to software leadership.
  • Create process health, progress and stability metrics when required
  • Become fluent in the use of tools; Jira, Confluence, Jazz, DOORS or others as needed
  • Be a constructive advocate for Mission Assurance and relentlessly articulate our Value Proposition to our stakeholders
  • Ensure GBSD software is in compliance with industry guidelines and contractual requirements for development of military weapon systems. Maintain a keen focus on employee engagement, teaming and collaboration, process improvement, rework reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures.
  • Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements software development and maintenance processes and methods.
  • Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
  • Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives.
  • Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract.
  • Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.
  • Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.

    • Employee Discounts This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This requisition is a duel level and may be filled at either a Principal level or level Sr. Principal level. Basic Qualifications:
      Principal Engineer Software Quality:
      • BS Degree with 5 years of Software or Software QA experience, 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree or Master's Degree with 3 years of experience. Senior Principal Engineer Software Quality:
        • BS Degree and 9 years of Software or Software QA experience, 4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree; or Master's Degree with 7 years of experience. Both Principal and Senior Principal Engineer Software Quality:
          • US Citizenship
          • Active Secret Clearance (within the last 5 years) with ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance and Special Program Access (SAP)
          • Experience in developing and/or implementing Software Quality Assurance plans.
          • Experience in developing and/or using metrics for process health and/or performance monitoring
          • Demonstrated ability prioritizing tasks and/or meeting deadlines
          • Excellent liaison between local personnel, suppliers, and/or customers
          • Experience in evaluation, tracing, and/or analysis of requirements These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
            • Experience in leading a team of Software Quality Assurance and Quality Engineers
            • Experience in Software Quality Assurance Management
            • Experience in Missile Systems/Sub-Systems design, construction, or sustainment
            • Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting for a large program/supplier-base.
            • A current/Active Top Secret clearance This position reports to Roy, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Huntsville, AL, AL, USA. Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD Salary Range 2: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
