Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer /
Software Engineer. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL
and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. What You'll Get To
Do: Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the
following:
- Designs, develops, integrates and tests displays, controls and
software functionality for use in high fidelity model-based system
including a combination of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and
original SW to provide system functionality.
- Develops and maintains databases to monitor and analyze system
performance
- Collaborates with System, Test and Quality Engineers to ensure
software requirements are met
- Performs software peer reviews, version control, automated
tests, software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous
delivery in accordance with DevSecOps processes and best
practices
- Performs code quality management and corrects defects
- Coordinates with HW/SW team to perform retests and regression
test once defects are correctedThis position's standard work
schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a
nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday
off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance
package. Job Qualifications: You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Software Engineer: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant
experience; 0 Years with Masters or 4 additional years in lieu of a
degree
- Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of
related software engineering experience, OR a Master's Degree and 3
years of related experience or 4 additional years in lieu of a
degree
- Current DoD Secret clearance or higher (adjudicated within the
past 5 years) with ability to obtain PAR
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and
continuous delivery
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both
technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to understand and interpret requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and
problem-solving skills
- Experience developing testing criteria to satisfy
requirements
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme
Programming), Scaled Agile Framework - SAFe for Lean
EnterprisesThese Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Exposure to all parts of the Software Engineering
Lifecycle
- Experience writing automated tests
- Experience with shell and/or python scripting
- Security+ certification
- Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence,
Bitbucket)
- Experience with Dockerization and Container Management (Dockers
and Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of deployment automation tools such as chef, puppet
or ansible
- Basic experience level with working in a fast pace, agile
environment with the ability to work on cross-function Scrum team
focused on quality and capability delivery
- Familiarity with COTS configuration and integration, Java/C/C++
development and/or front-end web development including JavaScript
Frameworks (Angular JS or React), HTML, and CSS
- Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git,
Mercurial)
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systemsAs a

$138,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
