Job Description:

Wiregrass Construction is Hiring Asphalt RakersUnder the supervision of the department lead, the asphalt raker will straighten asphalt joints and hand work areas the paving machine is unable to reach.Will work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.What We Offer:

• Posted salary or pay compensation ranges are approximate and dependent on applicable experience and qualifications. Upper ranges are flexible. Primary duties:
  • Clean excess asphalt off tools and equipment
  • Flag traffic
  • Set up and maintenance of erosion control
  • Load and unload materials
  • Shovel dirt, gravel, and asphalt
  • General clean up around job site
  • Check and maintain grade stakes
  • Set-up and maintenance of traffic control aids
  • Monitor and Watch gauges, dials, and other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks
  • Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.
  • All other duties as assigned or requiredPhysical Demands:
    • Lifting and carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 50lbs (+-75%) of the time
    • Standing/walking/climbing (+-75%)of the time
    • Occasional sitting in a normal position for an extended time (+-25%)of the time
    • Frequent reaching/handling/feeling (+-70%) of the time
    • Frequent use of finger dexterity (+70%) of the time.Working Conditions:
      • Noise level is moderate to high.
      • Work environment is not environmentally controlled, exposed to extreme heat and cold.Experience:
