Join TeamHealth as an emergency medicine (EM) nurse practitioner
(NP) or physician assistant (PA) at Shelby Baptist Medical Center
in Alabaster, Alabama. Shelby Baptist Medical Center is a 252-bed
facility serving the greater Birmingham-Alabaster region.
Emergency Department Profile
- Annual ED patient volume: approximately 50,000+
- 36-bed ED with excellent specialty backup
- EPIC EMR
- Modern facility with high-acuity patient mix
- Well-established clinical workflows and strong
interdepartmental support
What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for
patients of all ages in the emergency department
- Collaborate with attending emergency medicine physicians and
multidisciplinary teams
- Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&Ds, and
more (as credentialed)
- Participate in patient flow optimization, quality initiatives,
and patient-centered care
- Deliver compassionate, efficient, evidence-based emergency
care
Qualifications
- Active Alabama NP or PA license (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency medicine or urgent care experience
strongly preferred
- ACLS, PALS required; ATLS preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to
work independently with physician support
- Commitment to high-quality, team-based emergency care
