Job Description Custom Healthcare Solutions is seeking a local contract nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a local contract nursing job in Birmingham, Alabama. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/16/2026 - Duration: 11 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible - Employment Type: Local Contract Registered Nurse (RN) Birmingham, AL Hospital is hiring Registered Nurses (RN) for DAY or NIGHT shifts 13 week or longer March Start Dates (ASAP Preferred) 3x12s, 12 hour shifts, rotate every other weekend $52/HR Local pay Contact me for stipend breakdown if traveling. EPIC 1:4 ratio 2 years RN Bedside experience /nBLS, ACLS /ncritical drips, trachs, ventilator experience required/n/nAcuity:/nHighest acuity would be those patients on vents with vasoactive drips that we are titrating up. /nLowest acuity would be a patient getting 6-8 weeks of IV antibiotics. /nCritical Drips include Vasopressin, Levophed, Dopamine and some sedations as we titrate the drip UP. /nOnce we start titrating the drip down or we are not titrating at the time, the drip is no longer critical. /nDrips like Amiodarone, Heparin, NonTitrated Cardizem, and such are not considered critical drips/nNurse Patient Ratios/nTypical load is 4-5:1 (you will have patients w/trachs and some on stable vents)/nHigh acuity patients will result in a 2-3:1/nEHR/nWe are on EPIC/nOur nurses are expected to draw their own labs/nWe use Omnicell for Med dispense. /nOrientation/nYou will only get one 12 hours shift of orientation/nAfter that one shift of orientation, you are expected to take your own team of patients. /n /n/nSuccessful nurse for this engagement are those with critical skills and experience in drips, vents, and various modes of oxygen delivery including Vents, HHF, Vapotherm, etc… /n/nWorking a stepdown floor is also beneficial. The nurse must be able to handle a 5 patient assignment and deliver organized care. The contract is a 13-week contract with a minimum expectation to work every other weekend. /n/n
