TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Acute Care Surgical Nurse to join our dynamic team within our state-of-the-art healthcare facility. As a vital member of our surgical team, the Acute Care Surgical Nurse will provide critical nursing care to patients who are in the acute phase of their illness, following surgery or trauma. This role requires excellent clinical skills, the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure environments, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans for surgical patients in acute care settings. Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms, adjusting medical care as needed and in accordance with physician directives. Administer medications, manage pain relief, and assist in surgeries as needed. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality care during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. Educate patients and their families on post-surgical care, including medication management, wound care, and follow-up appointments. Maintain patient records with accuracy and comply with all legal, hospital, and health requirements. Proficiency in managing surgical patient care, critical thinking skills in high-stress situations. Skilled in the use of medical software for charting and documentation. Exceptional ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
