be considered. A registered nurse with step-down unit experience is
needed for a contract position in Bessemer, AL. This role supports
patients requiring specialized care for heart disease and related
conditions in a 14-bed step-down unit. Flexible start dates are
available, with shifts beginning any Monday. The assigned schedule
includes 12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715 hours, with options
of 36 or 48 hours per week. Nurses will float as needed to similar
units within the float pool, providing valuable coverage and skill
utilization. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Key
responsibilities include monitoring and managing patients with
cardiac conditions, implementing treatment plans, and documenting
care in the Epic electronic health record system. The nurse to
patient ratio is 1:4, allowing for focused and attentive care.
Qualifications and experience: Current RN license with step-down
nursing expertise Valid BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS
certification required Proficiency in caring for heart disease
patients and related diagnoses Experience using Epic for charting
and documentation Ability to float to similar nursing units as part
of the float pool Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations required, with
medical or religious exemptions accepted This contract position
offers a supportive clinical environment with a dedicated 14-bed
step-down unit. The schedule allows consistency with every other
