Key Qualifications and Experience: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license Proficiency in Stepdown unit nursing Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Experience with Epic electronic health records system Ability to handle a nurse-patient ratio of 1:4 effectively Skilled in managing pneumonia and other common diagnoses in a 20-bed unit Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts, approximately 36 hours per week Flexibility to work every other weekend and float to like units as needed Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a specialized stepdown unit Monitor patient conditions and intervene as necessary using appropriate clinical judgment Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic charting software Adhere to established protocols and safety standards to ensure patient well-being Support unit functions by floating to similar units when required Location Insight:The position is based in Bessemer, Alabama, a vibrant community offering a blend of rich history and modern amenities.
