Job Description:
The Cyber Analyst shall support the Vulnerability Management
program with risk determination recommendations and trend analysis.
The successful candidate will analyze potential vulnerabilities
across the Army Enterprise by researching the Common Vulnerability
and Exposure database, open-source information, and threat
information. The Cyber Analyst shall assess risk and potential
operational impacts associated with disclosed vulnerabilities that
affect Army networks and generate reports for Army leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Must stay abreast of current attack vectors and unique methods
for exploitation of computer networks and recommend mitigation and
prevention strategies applicable to Army networks
* Will render expertise and guidance to other cybersecurity
programs regarding vulnerability exploits
* Will engage with Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense
Information Network (JFHQ-DoDIN) on the release of Information
Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) Alert and IAVA Bulletins as
needed
* Will use Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and other Intel
channels to monitor for reports of vulnerabilities and active
exploits in products which may affect the DoDIN-A
* Must routinely analyze, coordinate, and recommend priority and
impact of vulnerabilities for release to the Army for targeted
remediation through the Cyber Tasking Orders process. This includes
researching new vulnerabilities in various databases to rate their
significance to the DoDIN-A
Required Skills and Experience:
* Clearance Required: Secret
* BS or BA degree and 3-10 years of experience
* Associate Degree and additional experience may be substituted for
a Bachelor's
* Strong technical writing experience is a must
* Must have or be able to obtain Security+ CE certification, or
equivalent, within 6 months of hire
Desired Qualifications:
* Vulnerability management experience is highly desired
* OSINT related cert - GOSI, certified in OSINT, etc. is highly
desired
