We are currently looking for an seasoned Banquet Manager for The Chattanoogan Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Chattanooga, TN. The right individual will be a self starter with a strong attention to detail and the ability to get the job done.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this role you will oversee all banquet/catering operations within the hotel. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational, positive leader with a talent for training and developing others, a strong knowledge of industry meeting trends and a passion for creating memorable experiences. At least 2-3 years' experience as a Banquet Manager is preferred.

As a Banquet Manager, you would be responsible for managing the daily execution of all banquet functions in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Supervise Team Members to include developing positive working relationships, providing training and educational support, assisting in the recruitment process, and ensuring that Team Members are meeting guest needs.

Manage daily Banquet functions to include, but not limited to, planning, organizing and executing breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, conference, etc.

Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, and professional appearance

Responsible for short and long term banquet functions in the front and back of the house

Oversee the set-up of function rooms to include, but not limited to, the placement of linens, silver, glassware and chinaware according to event specifications and a full inspection

Oversee the breakdown of the function room and ensure proper storage of equipment

Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs

Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions

Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Catering and Food & Beverage departments

Evaluating, pre-planning, and being prepared for large groups and special functions including holidays and special events

Communicate function specifications, procedures and changes with affected departments including, but not limited to, the Food and Beverage, Conference and Event Services, Property Operations, Audio Visual and Housekeeping

Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards

Responsible for motivating and managing a team of banquet professionals

Develop and recommend the departmental budget, objectives and manages within those approved plans

Participate in total hotel management as a member of the Hotel Executive Committee

Participate in BEO, pre-con and post-con meetings

Liaison between client and hotel, banquet point of contact, ensuring banquet leadership communication at all times before, during and after events

Coordinate banquet and catering operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service

Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality

Implement procedures to increase event, guest and associate satisfaction

Exercise quality control for banquet and catering food and beverage

Complete banquet ordering needs in partnership with Food & Beverage Director and Culinary

Complete monthly, quarterly and as needed inventories for china, glassware, silverware, equipment, linen, etc.

Capital and asset maintenance and upkeep

Maintaining standards of service and ensure their implementation

Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward

Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel team members

Direct and oversee development of employees

Coach and counsel employees to reflect brand service standards and procedures

Conduct performance and salary reviews

Direct the implementation of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for food and beverage operations

Maintain communications with Corporate Staff
