Quick Apply Full-time7 hours ago Full Job Description Position Description Summary: APT Research is hiring a Program Manager to support operations in Huntsville, AL at our corporate headquarters. Other locations, including working from home, may be considered. The responsibilities include: Comfortable outlining and planning all aspects of work related to a given project, such as budget, timelines, assignments, and workplans. Strong communication skills, including proficient technical writing skills, that enable him/her to effectively communicate with all relevant teams. Able to foresee any problems related to the completion of a project and act in a timely manner to mitigate any issues. Work areas will involve managing tasks related to explosives safety, to include project which may consist of software development, software lifecycle management, data analysis, explosives effects and consequence modeling, technical writing, training, large-scale explosives testing, and other engineering-related tasks. Required Experience/Education: A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university 5+ years of Program Management experience Must have experience managing teams of engineers/scientists on technical projects Able to communicate with and manage multiple customers concurrently Managing teams of subcontractors across various projects Security Clearance Requirement: An active Secret clearance (or higher), or the ability to get and maintain a Secret clearance is required. Preferred Experience: The following are skills/credentials that will be beneficial for you in this position, but none are required for a successful application. Program Management experience in the DoD or DOJ fields Experience in explosives or a related field Bachelor of Science or Advanced Degrees in engineering or a similar applied math/science field Experience in modern programming languages for desktop and web applications (e.g., Python, Java, and Julia) Certification from Scrum Alliance or the Project Management Institute Certified Program Management Professional (PMP) Master's in Business Administration (MBA) Work Environment: Office environment Require ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%) Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%) Limited domestic travel ( Physical Requirements Requires sitting for extended periods of time (> 95%) Requires extended standing/walking and light labor in arid environments ( Other Essential Functions The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential (100%) Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
