Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is looking for you to join our team as the Networking and Field Services Business Area Department Manager for SHORAD Short Range Air Defense Operating Unit in Huntsville, AL. SHORAD integrates disparate radars and weapons to construct a far more effective air defense solution. Northrop Grumman has been the prime in developing this critical capability for the U.S. Army for over 35 years and anticipates further growth as the system is adapted to additional customer assets and expanded to serve as the Army's contribution to Joint All Domain Command and Control. The Networking and Field Services business area has a portfolio of programs that are related to C-RAM, C-UAS, Base Security and Defense, and also our Field Services support teams world wide.

As the Business Area Manager, you will report to the SHORAD Operating Unit Director and be responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance of a multi-disciplinary team that designs, develops, documents, tests, and integrates and fields the SHORAD layered defense solutions to our customers. This role will also have accountability for and participate in the strategy to grow our business. We are looking to continue to nurture customer intimacy and develop solutions for DoD, and international DCS and FMS customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of program management leadership or Master's with 10 years experience.
  • DoD Air Defense Experience
  • Business Acumen: The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools, and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance
  • Understanding of organizational financial management and reporting (Annual Operating Plan)
  • Demonstrated customer interface skills
  • Demonstrated large-team organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated executive communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Experience in program-level financial management and reporting (Earned Value Management, Control Account Management, Risk Management)
  • Understanding of organizational financial management and reporting (Annual Operating Plan)
  • Experience in program-level financial management and reporting (Earned Value Management, Control Account Management, Risk Management)
  • Issue & Problem Resolution: The ability to identify and address program impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the program
  • Resources: The ability to plan for, identify, estimate, cost, acquire, schedule, and retire resources needed to satisfy program requirements within organizational constraints
  • Resource planning and staffing to plan
  • Active Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications:
    • Proposal development experience
    • Capture Management / Business Development Experience
    • Strategic Planning experience
    • SAFe Agile experience and training
    • Understanding of enterprise-class operating system and network deployment
    • Understanding of DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) concepts
    • Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance Salary Range: $160,000 USD - $215,000 USD

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
