Huntsville,Alabama,United States 6B1EP4 The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Huntsville Electromagnetic Effects group is seeking an Electromagnetic Effects Design & Analysis Engineer ( Level 4 ). This senior-level electromagnetic effects engineer will mentor, coach and lead lesser experience engineers providing knowledge transfer to aid in growing our next generation of engineers. The candidate will provide engineering and technical decisions for Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD). Main area of focus will be Electromagnetic Environment Effects (E3) analysis and testing, assessment of E3 conditions and Survivability assessments of the GBSD design and operational sites. Spectrum Management and Frequency Allocations, Verification of seismic and other Specialty Engineering requirements, and HEMP analyses (or knowledge of) and associated MIL Standards for E3. Close coordination with the Oklahoma City E3 group is required especially with regards to HIRF, Lightning, Nuclear Hardening, EMC, and TEMPEST capabilities. Assignments will provide an excellent opportunity to learn aircraft electromagnetics effect on the various platforms Job Responsibilities Duties will also include (but are not limited to): Develops and validates requirements for various complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical / electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures Develops architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms Performs complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements Defines and conducts critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements Manages appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues Supports project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews Generates major sections of proposals to support development of new business Works under minimal mentorship Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems. Work Authorization : This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Position is contingent upon clearance verification and program / customer concurrence. Basic Qualifications ( Required Skills / Experience ): Active / Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance Organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally & in writing Must work well in a team environment Demonstrated work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time Preferred Qualifications ( Desired Skills / Experience ): Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry Previous experience in Electrical Effects Experience with electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams Experience in electrical / electronic design with consideration to Electromagnetic Interference / Compatibility (EMI / EMC) Experience providing technical leadership for an engineering team Experience leading an IPT or team through design & delivery of hardware Experience leading technical teams as an Integrated Project Team (IPT) lead on System, Software or Electrical Engineering applications Typical Education / Experience : Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation : This position requires that you work out of Huntsville, AL and does offer relocation assistance to eligible candidates.
