Boeing Research & Technology is seeking an Advanced Rocket Propulsion Engineer (Level 3) located in Huntsville, Alabama. Job Responsibilities: * Design and analysis of new technologies and tools for improving rocket propulsion vehicle performance, capability and safety, design, and development cycle times. * Work will span all areas of rocket propulsion (e.g., solid, cryogenic, storable, electrical, hybrid, combined cycle) and rocket propulsion system features (e.g., feed, venting, loading, pressure and thermal control, purging, material compatibility, storage, slosh, fluid management, quantity measurement and indication). * Design and analysis of electric propulsion systems, "green" propellant systems, and cryogenic fluid systems is of interest. * May also include the design and testing of space propulsion components and systems. Testing would include the documentation of test requirements and plans. Qualifications Work Authorization Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): * Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. * Propulsion system design / integration experience * Team collaboration and communication skills Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * Experience in analysis of fluid systems, pressure systems, and/or propulsive flows (Ex: flow/fluid analysis, CFD analysis or thermal analysis for rocket propulsion designs) * Experience with propulsion design and integration concepts for space flight vehicles * Experience with rocket propulsion / flight vehicle integration including design and engineering analysis * Experience with electric propulsion systems * Experience with non-toxic rocket propulsion fuels or systems Typical Education / Experience: Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
