Job Description:
General Summary Participates in build, design, configuration,
integration, maintenance, training, and test of small unmanned
aircraft systems (sUAS). Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(*Essential functions) Participates in rapid prototyping for the
design process for drones* Make recommendations for modification
during the design process based on feedback from previous testing
results to meet desired specifications.* Performs assembly of
mechanical and electrical drones, integration and test, and buildup
of assemblies & subassemblies* Uses a variety of machine shop tools
and other items including CNC mills, 3D printers, etc. May use CAD
tools to assist in designing models for drone assembly* Documents
processes and build techniques * Provides technical support to
stakeholders and troubleshoots issues* Assists in training and
curriculum development Participates in testing, data collection and
analysis* Prepares reports for leadership discussions on the
process and recommends process improvement* Travel for field
testing and/or project meetings may be required At COLSA, people
