Job Responsibilities:Provide radiation hardness and survivability analysis and recommendations to an integrated product development teamContribute to and in some cases be the principal author of RH&S program plans and final reportsReview and provide feedback on the RH&S program test plan provided by a separate sub-contractor to the company for radiation testing of active components, subassemblies and the integrated productReview test results of components, subassemblies and integrated subsystemsReview of subassembly and subsystem documentationAnalysis of design approach, parts, material and process selection in the context of the radiation environment and specified requirementsReview and critique of third-party RH&S (Radiation Hardness and Survivability) Test Program PlanGeneration of an overall program RH&S plan with inputs from RF, Digital and Mechanical design and component engineersReview and critique of third-party RH&S component and integrated assemblies radiation test plansParticipation in the company's internal as well as customer-attended design reviewsParticipation in the company's risk assessments and mitigation planning for RH&S-related design and program risksData review and assessment of radiation test results for components as well as integrated assembliesWriting and editing sections of risk-reduction (-109) and final (-009) radiation qualification reportsBasic Hiring Criteria:Master's or greater in Solid State Physics, Semiconductors or Electrical Engineering10 years in semiconductor-based product Radiation Hardening and Survivability (RH&S) engineering and analysisEngineering and organizational skills to assimilate and present scientific data and concepts to a technical audience with a range of similar experienceCommunication skills to interface with internal engineering and program professionals as well as customer subject matter experts on the subject of RH&SExperience with writing plans, procedures and reports of a highly technical natureFluency in radiation environment terminology such as Total Ionizing Dose (TID), DoseRate Upset, Dose Rate Survivability, Heavy Ion Single Event Effects, Neutron SingleEvent Effects, Neutron Displacement Damage as examples10 Years of experience
