Responsibilities to Anticipate:



  • Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard power conversion topologies (linear, buck, boost, buck-boost), input and output filtering, analog circuits such as amplifiers, load switches, power on sequence circuits.


  • Design to requirements to meet system needs.


  • Work with technical subject matter experts to derive performance requirements.


  • Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.


  • Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule.


  • Test performance of designs compared to requirements and analysis results.


  • Generate design artifacts/documentation regarding analysis and hardware performance.


  • Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff.


    Qualifications You Must Have:


    • Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)


    • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience


    • Experience with any of the following: Power supply design, buck converter, boost converter, flyback and/or linear regulator SEPIC of other power conversion topology


    • Experience with design, analysis and/or test of the following: design/analysis of analog electronics or op amp circuits or MOSFETs or transistors


      The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
      Qualifications We Value:


      • Design, analysis, and/or test experience with any of the following isolated converter topologies: flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, and/or push-pull. Design scope will ideally include stability.


      • Experience with performing circuit card assembly-level power architecture trades, and/or with system-level power architecture trades, including power converter specification development experience.


      • Experience designing motor drivers.


      • Professional experience guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation (direct experience with such tools is adequate to fulfill this requirement).


      • Familiarity with circuit simulator SIMPLIS and/or analysis tool Mathcad.


      • Experience with Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, and/or Hyperlynx.


      • Experience with acting as a liaison between program and functional management.


      • Experience with digital power control.


      • Experience with military specifications.


      • Experience with transformer and inductor design considerations.


      • Design experience with Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) concerns.


      • Design experience with voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW.


      • Experience with program management tools such as Earned Value.


      • Experience with proposal development.


      • Ability to design to meet concerns of adjacent disciplines, such as thermal, structural, mechanical, reliability, and quality.


      • Ability to be a self-starter and be able to function in a dynamic environment.


      • Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and time management skills.
