PRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

SRC's Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity for college students to obtain meaningful work experience through on-the-job training assignments.

• Take an active part in the design, development, integration, and testing of site projects
• Provide engineering support for less complex technical problems and recommend a course of action
• Assist senior engineers on more complex problems as assigned
• Report individual and group project status as required
• Develop and present a summer capstone project to division leadership
• May work across multiple programs in both a team environment and independently to perform their assigned tasksRequirements
  
  MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate Mechanical Engineering degree program at an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)
  • Eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to read design / construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations
  • Should have current working knowledge of acceptable products and procedures
  • Must have an understanding and be able to interpret drawings in his/her discipline and have an understanding of the principals of his/her discipline and how it fits in with other disciplines
  • Interpersonal skills that augment performance within a team environment
