Draper is seeking a skilled, motivated, detail-oriented navigation engineer to support the design, development, and analysis of advanced navigation algorithms as well as the development and testing of navigation models for missiles (like this and this). The design and analysis tasks call for a wide-ranging suite of navigation design and analysis techniques such as covariance analysis, high-fidelity sensor modeling, recursive optimal estimation algorithm design, Monte Carlo analysis, V&V analysis, flight support, and post-flight analysis.
Responsibilities will include analyzing, developing, and testing navigation algorithms, implementing algorithms in Simulink, writing simulation software in various languages, developing and executing simulations and other tools for analysis, writing algorithm descriptions and analysis reports, developing missile GN&C models and documentation, and gaining in-depth knowledge of applicable platforms and sensors.
Required Qualifications:



  • Masters or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent


  • Familiarity with several of the following languages and tools: C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink


  • Knowledge of navigation design methodologies


  • Knowledge of Kalman filter techniques


  • Knowledge of GPS and inertial navigation sensors desired
