Grumman Space Systems is seeking to add an Engineer Material
Process/Principal Engineer Material Process in support of the
Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman
supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and
deployment of hardware and system modifications for
Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne
Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated
infrastructure. This position is located in Huntsville,
Alabama.Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the
following:Support design with materials selection and establishing
processing routes for ceramics, polymers, metals, and composites (
75%)Support various business critical functions ( 5%)Develop,
support, and/or lead R&D or direct programs, test plans and
reports, finance tracking, proposals, and presentations.At any one
time, the individual will serve in roles ranging from supporting
engineer to project lead.Apply knowledge and expertise in materials
science, chemistry, physics, and related fields to provide
technical information, guidance, and solutions to engineers and
scientists in support of R&D and production program.Author,
assist, and/or maintain material specifications and process
standards, work instructions, and other engineering related
documentation.Collaborate cross functionally across functional
Engineering Teams, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, to support
business needs, including active communication with
suppliers.Support fabrication, mechanical testing, thermal analysis
and materials characterization, chemical analysis, qualification

degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical
Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Ceramic Engineering with 2
years' experience; 0 years' experience with a Master'sPrincipal
Engineer Material Process: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science
and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials
Engineering, or Ceramic Engineering with 5 years' experience; 3
years' experience with a Master's; 0 years' with PHDMust be a US
Citizen with the ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP)
ClearanceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret
clearance or higherMust be proficient in Microsoft Office tools1+
years' experience with DoD/NASA PM&P standards1+ years'
experience with part, material and process development and
qualification1+ years' experience writing preparing technical data
presentations and writing technical emailsThese Qualifications
Would be Nice to Have:An Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security
Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past
6 yearsSpecial Program AccessWorking knowledge of various NASA &
DoD standards and performance documents required for the selection
and screening of Space -level parts, materials and processes
including NASA-STD-6016, MIL-STD-11991, MIL-STD-1568 and MDA
PMAP.Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)Good

environmentStrong commitment and proven capability to work on
multiple projects of varying size and scope at any given time,

qualification for metallic and polymer materials.Direct experience
and desire in authoring or maintaining material and process
specification, test reports, and relevant documentation.Expertise
managing or leading projects as Principal Investigator (PI) while
working with minimal supervision in either team setting or
independently.This preferred candidate will have excellent
communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and ability to
interface with senior management, peers, and employees.
Salary Range: $70,100 USD - $105,100 USDSalary Range 2: $86,300 USD
- $129,500 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus
in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
