The Valves Actuators Lines and Ducts Propulsion Team is seeking a
Valve Design & Development Engineer.
Activities may include but not be limited to:
Provide technical support as part of the Human Lander System
Insight Team working with commercial partners.
Provide risk reduction input to a variety of issues and
non-conformances as it relates to vehicle valves.
Support component testing activities.
Provide data analysis of anomalies that occur during testing or
flight.
Responsible for certification of vehicle components to
contractually tailored design and test standards.
Fully document recommendations concerning valve related
assessments.
Communicate and provide feedback to a fully cross-functional
vehicle engineering team.
Support remote and on-site audits for component build and
testing.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: Degree in Engineering or related (STEM) field is
required. Degree from an ABET-accredited university is preferred.
Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Masters
with at least 3 years of experience, or BS with at least 5 years of
experience.
Required Experience / Skills:
Experience in at least one of the following areas:
Valve design experience.
Valve testing experience.
Knowledge of fabrication, quality control, and material selection
relative to valve manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of propellants used for rocket propulsion.
Desired Experience / Skills:
Direct experience in the design and certification of aerospace
propulsion systems.
Knowledge of NASA and/or aerospace design and construction
standards.
Experience in valve design with cryogenic fluids.
CAD experience, CREO preferred.
