Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Strategic Deterrence Systems Division (SDS). This position can be filled in Huntsville. AL or Roy, UT and supports the Advanced Programs Team. Final grade offered will be based on candidate experience level.

What You'll Get To Do:

The successful candidate for this role will perform Computational Fluid Dynamics and Aerothermal Modelling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) tasks for the SDS Advanced Programs (AP) Team. The AP Team creates and matures new technological concepts for our Department of Defense Customers. The MS&A team is responsible for running complex simulations in a digital engineering environment to steer the technologies developed by the AP team towards a mature, deployable technology using the simulated performance results.
The Computational Fluid Dynamics and Aerothermal Analysis MS&A engineers will perform Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations for advanced vehicle and payload concepts. Those CFD results will be used to analyze the thermal loads imparted upon the vehicle, the heat transfer throughout the vehicle, and the thermal effects upon the vehicle such as ablation.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
---Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 2 years of experience; 0 years with Master's Degree
---Experience with digital design, modeling and simulation tools and processes
---Experience with the following tools (or equivalent):
-Ansys Fluent
-CFD++
---Ability to obtain and maintain an active secret security clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
---Experience with ballistic missile, hypersonic vehicle, cruise missile, and/or weapon payload modeling, simulation, and analysis
A current DoD Secret clearance granted or re-investigated within last 6 years
---Experience modeling in STK
---Experience coordinating with other teams in a collaborative environment.
---Experience with aerothermal performance at hypersonic speeds including heat transfer and material ablation
---Experience with the following tools or equivalent:
-Aerotherm Chemical Equilibrium (ACE)
-Abres Shape Change Code (ASCC)
-Aeroheating and Thermal Analysis Code (ATAC)
-Thermal Desktop
-Charring Mass Ablator (CMA).
---Active DoD Top Secret Clearance investigated within last 6 years

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $112,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
