Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal / Senior
Principal Structural Engineer to join the Strategic Deterrence
Systems Division (SDS) Advanced Programs Team. This position can be
filled in Huntsville, AL. Final grade offered will be based on
experience.
What You'll Get To Do:
The individual in this role will be engaged in the development of
structural designs to optimize dynamic performance, development of
structural dynamics analysis and methodologies using advanced
numerical solutions, establishing parameters for dynamics testing,
dynamics test monitoring and data processing, correlation of test
results to model predictions, and preparation of technical
documents and presentations.
The selected candidate will have demonstrated skill and ability to
lead and perform professional tasks, including the ability to lead
small teams and execute to cost and schedule targets, ability to
prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result,
ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple task responsibilities
simultaneously, and ability to comprehend and analyze complex
problems and develop innovative solutions.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule
allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday
to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive
relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
--- Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 5 years
of experience; 3 years with Master's Degree; 0 years with PhD
--- Sr. Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years
of experience; 7 years with Master's Degree; 4 years with PhD
--- Experience deriving loads for aerospace vehicles
--- Experience with modal testing and modal correlation
--- Experience analyzing structures subjected to shock and
vibration
--- Experience with industry standard loads and Finite Element
Analysis Software (for example, NX Nastran, Abaqus, PATRAN, FEMAP,
Matlab, etc.)
--- US Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret clearance
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
--- A current DoD Top Secret clearance granted or re-investigated
within last 6 years
--- Experience deriving loads for Ballistic Re-entry Vehicles or
Hypersonic Vehicles
Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
