part of a small, passionate team of experts, you will be
responsible for the development, evaluation, improvement, and
documentation of Heat Treatment processes at Blue Origin's Engine
facility in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a 2nd shift support
position for our Heat Treatment and NDT processing areas. You will
work closely with production operators, quality technicians, and
engineering counterparts on 1st shift to support processing
hardware through these areas. You will coordinate efforts between
peer Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers and Production team
members, and you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of
Blue Origin's ability to develop, test and fly rocket engines.We

required!Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, implement and optimize Heat Treat processes of
rocket engine components
- Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods related to
heat treatment, metallurgy and materials
- Lead team members in the operation and maintenance of vacuum
furnaces, sub-systems and ancillary equipment
- Define and procure all tooling and fixtures
- Conduct PFMEA studies, mitigate risks and document work
instructions
- Disposition non-conformances, drive root cause analysis and
deploy corrective actions
- Summarize, document, and communicate testing results to
stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with internal customers (M&P engineers,
test technicians, manufacturing engineers, management and
design/analysis engineers) to define requirements and align tools
to meet company objectivesQualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering,
Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from a
nationally accredited university
- Minimum 1-3 years engineering experience with vacuum heat treat
processes
- Experience thermally processing aerospace materials such as
stainless steel, copper, nickel and cobalt alloys, and titanium
wrought alloys, casting, and additive manufacturing
- Familiarity with heat treat and pyrometry standards (AMS2750,
AMS2769 and AC7102)
- Experience with crane lifts of high value hardware
- Proven experience and successful track record
developing/starting new processes
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD,
Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab,
Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality
systems such as AS9100
- Flexibility with regards to occasional support of second
shift
