Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an experienced
Senior Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer (Level 4) for the
Design Engineering team in Huntsville, AL on the Patriot Advanced
Capability (PAC-3) missile-defense program. Boeing Huntsville has
multi-year contracts to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot
Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future
improvements. The PAC-3 Seeker is a complex, radar-based
electro-mechanical assembly. These contracts are driving
significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the
Huntsville, AL campus. This Senior Mechanical Design & Analysis
Engineer will be responsible for developing concepts, architecture,
and detailed mechanical designs for product hardware and test
fixtures on a new PAC-3 Seeker upgrade program. Position
Responsibilities Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Leads and provides technical quality review of the development and
documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal
environment to establish the system design Leads activities to
validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements Leads
the development, maintenance or modification of system components'
designs / proposals to provide installation and detail
documentation Performs and documents analyses Manages supplier
development, test and production activities and directs the
supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals
Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation of
analyses of mechanisms / landing gear / ordnance components and
systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the
design Supports proposal preparation and new business development
efforts Trains and coaches others Works under minimal direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience): This position
requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security
Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered
active.) Applicants are requested to include their Security

resume. Position is contingent on clearance verification and
customer concurrence. Bachelors of Science degree or higher in an
engineering classification Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills
/ Experience): 8+ years' of engineering experience Preferred Skills
in one or more of these areas: Experience Detailed electronic
packaging design and analysis (including knowledge of mechanical
aspects of electronics such as solder joint integrity) Advanced
experience with solid modeling Computer Aided Design (CAD); Pro E
is strongly preferred Structural and thermal Finite Element
Analyses (FEA) using tools such as NASTRAN / PATRAN Gimbal or
robotic controls Development products for harsh, missile flight
environments Creation, release, and configuration of detailed
technical documentation packages Supporting microwave components
such as wave guides and antennas Working with suppliers Thermal,
vibration, and Environmental Stress Screening equipment and
processes for electronic circuit card assemblies and complex
electro-mechanical assemblies Root Cause and Corrective Action
problem resolution techniques Design for manufacturability Typical
Education / Experience: Education/experience typically acquired
through advanced technical education from an accredited course of
study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or
chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related
work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education
and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7
years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is
the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation: This position is located in Huntsville, AL and offers
relocation based on candidate eligibility. Candidates must live in
the immediate Huntsville area or be willing to relocate for this
opportunity. NOTE: Basic relocation plan is being offered for
