Explore your future and launch your career today.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.The selected engineer will work with the architecture, systems engineering, and test teams to develop a cohesive model-based architecture supporting the total system lifecycle, participate in technical reviews, and provide customer support. Primary Responsibilities:
    • Act as primary contact for project activities, leading project status review sessions with management and sub-contractors to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
    • Serve as the main focal point to coordinate and integrate Command and Launch equipment and requirements
    • Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specifications
    • Perform SLP-A MBSE architecture design and analysis and requirements analysis, decomposition, and interface definition
    • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues that arise from internal or external customers
    • Determine technical solution in accordance with product specifications and recommend actions to representatives for coordinated product solution
    • Assess product needs in accordance with specifications and requirements
    • Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports
    • Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and project-satisfaction goals and objectives
    • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with engineering, project managers, and the customer

The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.Basic Qualifications:Systems Engineer
      • Principal Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master's Degree and 3 years of engineering experience.
      • Senior Principal Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 9 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master's Degree and 7 years of engineering experience.
      • U.S. Citizenship and an Active Secret Security Clearance or higher awarded or reviewed in the last 6 years
      • Able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
      • Ability to work closely with multiple functional organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Field Operations, etc.).
      • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to engage with internal and external customersPreferred Qualifications:
        • Air platform integration experience
        • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
        • Specification author and/or owner experience.
        • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
        • Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations.
        • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner.
        • Experience in leading failure investigations and significant problem solving teams
        • Demonstrated experience working with customers to ensure project success.#GBSDsystems" Salary Range: $87,600 USD - $138,400 USD Salary Range 2: $108,600 USD - $171,500 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
