Job Description:
Job Description Shapes Precision Manufacturing is seeking a
skilled Painter to join our production team. This role is
responsible for prepping, painting, silk screening, and finishing a
variety of materials to meet rigorous aerospace quality standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and
experienced with industrial painting processes and equipment. Key
Responsibilities \n Prep, paint, silk screen, and finish various
materials in accordance with specifications. \n Perform all tasks
in a safe, reasonable manner per the Shapes Employee Handbook. \n
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; support 6S
and Lean initiatives. \n Comply with all quality policies,
specifications, and regulatory requirements. \n Request required
supplies for application, maintenance, and personal protection. \n
Ensure parts are properly prepared, including sanding,
sandblasting, plating, and hardware insertion-prior to painting. \n
Hang or rack parts to ensure efficient application and optimal
results. \n Prepare and apply wash coats, primers, and paints
according to manufacturer specifications. \n Cure applications per
manufacturer specifications. \n Remove all masking from parts after
painting. \n Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality
standards and specifications. \n Complete all required operation
entries and ensure accurate wand-out information. \n Dispose of
waste appropriately using designated containers or bins. \n Perform
other related duties as assigned. \n \n Qualifications and Skills
\n Ability to work independently or in a team environment. \n
Ability to read and follow company processes, policies, and
procedures. \n Strong attention to detail; ability to stay focused
and adapt to changing priorities. \n Ability to accept feedback and
remain calm and effective under pressure. \n Proficient in
mid-level math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals). \n Ability to use
inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins, and
height gages. \n Strong multitasking skills with the ability to
meet shop order standards efficiently. \n Excellent written and
verbal communication skills. \n Ability to make fiberglass splashes
and prep/finish various fillers and paints. \n Working knowledge of
conventional and HVLP sprayers, Garmat paint/cure booth, batch
oven, and paint mixer/shaker. \n Must be able to read and
communicate in English proficiently. \n \n Work Environment and
Physical Requirements \n Ability to lift, move, and transport up to
50 lbs across the building. \n Frequent standing, bending, and
repositioning throughout the shift. \n Constant operation of
machinery and equipment. \n May work on slippery or uneven
surfaces. \n Exposure to moving equipment, machine parts, and other
physical hazards. \n Requires fine motor coordination for equipment
and computer use. \n May work in close proximity to others. \n
20/20 vision or corrected. \n Ability to see close detail, color
variations, peripheral range, and adjust focus. \n Ability to read
screens, labels, and technical documents. \n Normal or corrected
hearing. \n Must be able to monitor machine sounds to identify
issues and take corrective action. \n Factory/production
environment. \n Occasional work outside normal business hours. \n
High noise levels from operating machinery. \n Exposure to fumes,
dust, and mist. \n Potential skin contact with chemicals used in
the manufacturing process \n \n Shapes Precision Manufacturing is
